Vintage 1950s RAPPI Emerald Green Floral Brocade Gown - Rare 25" Wasp Waist
C$250
Size
This is an authentic mid-century masterpiece by Rappi, the label of renowned Austrian-born designer Sydonia Rappaport Samalman. Rappi was famous for high-end, "demi-couture" formalwear sold in exclusive boutiques during the 1950s and 60s. This gown is a prime example of her signature "debutante" style, designed to create a dramatic, ultra-feminine silhouette.
Silhouette & Design:
The gown features a classic "wasp waist" silhouette, a hallmark of 1950s glamour. The structured, fitted bodice nipped in at the natural waist gives way to a voluminous, full skirt with deep pleating. The elegant neckline is balanced by a plunging V-back and an original metal zipper closure.
Fabric & Color:
Crafted from a heavy, high-quality floral jacquard brocade in a vibrant emerald green. The fabric has a rich, multidimensional texture that catches the light beautifully, typical of Rappi’s use of opulent materials.
Detailed Measurements (Taken Flat)
