Beautiful Mid century Modernism simplified floral pattern silverplate made in the 1953 by Oneida Silver. Plated with the Community plate grade these are in gorgeous condition and will be a perfect vintage addition to your tablesettings. Marked: Community Silverplate, no Monograms Pattern: White Orchid by Oneida Silver Discontinued c. 1953 - - These vintage flatware pieces are in gently used condition with surface scratches consistent with past use, storage, and their age. There is no pitting, dings, or deep scrapes. Some pieces have tarnish. ~ The story of Oneida silverware begins in upstate New York in 1848 when John Humphrey Noyes founded the "Oneida Community". It was a communal living where men and women worked together in their respective talents instead of dividing work as women's and men's. This diverse and thinking outside the box group became one of the key manufacturers of silver-plated flatware in the 19th century, and Community Plate was one of its first hallmarks.
