The pendant centers on a smooth, polished oval cabochon. The color is a deep, translucent reddish-brown, which is characteristic of carnelian. The stone is encased in a gold tone filigree border. The frame is embellished with cloisonné in vibrant shades of cobalt blue, bright red and pale mint green. The enamel work in a scrolling pattern, inspired by traditional Chinese Jew styles. There are distinct petal-like shapes at the t and bottom of the oval. The bail is decorated with matching blue and red enamel in a cohesive design from top to bottom.
