Quilt Style Batik Easter Egg with Green, Gold and Black Stars

This Easter Egg was made using beeswax and dye in a wax-resistant process, much like batik. A real chicken egg with the contents removed was used to create this decorative egg art. A green, gold and black star surrounds the egg. Some of the symbols on this egg are: 8-Pointed Star - Life itself, the giver of light, or Gods love toward man. Yellow ~ Symbol of light, purity, youth, happiness and hospitality. Sun, stars, moon. Green ~ Purity, innocence and birth. Spring, new growth and hope, breaking bondage, freshness and wealth. The egg in the photos is the actual egg you will receive, and measures approximately 2.2 inches from top to bottom and 1.5 inches from side to side. It has been coated with an archival varnish that adds UV protection, beauty and strength. This egg comes with an egg stand, symbol card and in a gift box. Display and care instructions: - Please make sure to display your pysanka out of direct sunlight as this can lead to discoloration and fading. - If you would like to stabilize your pysanka in an egg stand, a removable mounting putty, such as sticky tack, can be used to keep the egg in place. - To clean your pysanka of dust, simply wipe with a dry lint free cloth or something similar. - If storing your pysanka away until the next season, be sure to wrap in bubble wrap or other cushioning and place in a hard container to avoid crushing.
