"Little Joey" is a vintage Skootles doll from the 1920s-1940s. Known for their chubby, jointed bodies, Skootles were designed by illustrator Rose O'Neill and produced by the Cameo Doll Company. Vintage Skootles like this one were made of "composition," a mixture of sawdust, glue and other materials that were used for dolls before plastic became widespread. Joey comes with his original shoes, socks and underwear, and a suit of hand-crocheted pants, beret and jacket with a vintage brooch. He is somewhat delicate as the stretch bands holding his head and limbs should be replaced.
