This Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) butter or cheese dish, produced by New Martinsville Glass Manufacturing Co., features the No. 500 Wetzel pattern, also known as King’s Breast Plate, Pimlico, or Star of David. Introduced in 1905, this design showcases intricate cane, medallion, and pointed oval motifs, reflecting the craftsmanship of early 20th-century glassware.
Size: Stands 6 inches tall, with a plate diameter of 8 inches.
Condition: Displays beautifully but has chipping around the rim of the lid, the inner lip on the plate (where the lid sits), and the outer rim—a common occurrence in antique glassware.
New Martinsville Glass operated from 1900 to 1944, producing elegant pressed glass designs that remain highly collectible today. This butter dish is a wonderful addition to any EAPG collection or vintage table setting.
