Gorgeous set of 3 ceramic mugs in the Botanic Garden series from Portmeirion. Designed by Susan Williams-Ellis. Decorated with Speedwell (Veronica Chamaedrys) with butterflies, Bellis Perennis Daisy and Cyclamen Repandum. Approximately 4 1/8” tall, and 3.125” (8cm) in diameter across the top. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Excellent pre-owned condition. Bottom is marked "The Botanic Garden circa 1818 Portmeirion Susan Williams Ellis, Made in England, 1972, dishwasher proof, oven to table, freezer & microwave safe". Portmeirion artist Susan Ellis-Williams came up with the idea for Botanic Garden in 1972, when she was looking through rare books and discovered a volume of beautiful, meticulously drawn floral illustrations.
