Born of the sea and carved to catch the light.
This luminous vintage pendant is crafted from genuine mother of pearl, the iridescent inner shell layer known as nacre. Each movement reveals soft flashes of green, gold, rose, and silver — natural color play created by the layered structure of the shell.
The pendant has been carefully hand carved into a radiating floral or sand-dollar inspired motif, with delicate lines that fan outward from the center like sunlight across water. The carving stops just short of the outer edge, a subtle detail used by experienced shell carvers to protect the strength of the shell while allowing the design to remain crisp and dimensional.
Measuring approximately 1.5 inches, the pendant is a lovely wearable size that shows off the shell’s natural beauty while remaining lightweight and comfortable. The back displays the organic nacre growth patterns collectors enjoy seeing in genuine shell pieces.
The pendant is fitted with a small metal jump ring so it can easily be worn on a chain, leather cord, or ribbon. It currently hangs from a simple black nylon cord with a silver-tone lobster clasp, which appears to be a later addition and can be changed if desired.
📏 Measurements:
