For your consideration is an exceptionally rare piece of American millinery: an antique wool felt fedora from Culver's Men's, manufactured in Delmar, Delaware. This is an authentic Byer-Rolnick product, representing a historical era of Delaware manufacturing. The hat features a classic camel/cognac brown felt body, a unique decorative braided band, and its original natural feather accent and metal shield pin. Condition: This is an antique item over a century old. As such, it is being sold in vintage condition with cosmetic defects consistent with the passage of time. These include: Natural wear and aging to the felt surface. Minor spotting and patina on the interior and exterior commensurate with age. The structural integrity remains, but please review all photos carefully as they serve as the primary description of the item's physical state. This is a museum-quality piece of local Delaware history and a must-have for serious vintage hat collectors.

sellbyweekend Hi. Are there any clues about the size of this hat? Also, a picture from above the brim, showing the band might give a better idea of shape and condition.

cleliasheppard @sellbyweekend Antique hats typically follow a standard numbering system (e.g., 7, 7 1/8, 7 1/2) that corresponds to the head's circumference in inches. Please read description for more details on condition.

sellbyweekend @cleliasheppard Good morning. Thank you for your kind reply. I see that you added some images. They're much more helpful in describing the shape and condition compared to the few that you had prior. I can see now that it has a short brim and a braided band. These features are a signature of the 80's. The divots around the hat are from where moths ate it. The crushed crown can be repaired but the moth damage is permanent. I'm very familiar with how sizing works. Size is still not evident. Thanks.
