BALENCIAGA S02 Caramel Flat Brass Hobo Moto Bag, Chevre Leather - Rare & HTF

A rare piece of Balenciaga history. In 2001, Nicolas Ghesquière created the moto style handbag. During the earliest seasons (mainly 2001/02), these bags were made with flat brass hardware. Style numbers didn’t yet exist & inner tags were one sided & often sewn down. This style - Flat Brass Hobo - was a prelude to the Besace Made from buttery soft & durable “arena” (chevre) leather, the bag is lightweight & easy to carry. One large interior section with an open top. No inside pockets, but one zippered pocket on the front. The shoulder strap is adjustable Approx measurements: 13 in across, 14 in high, the bag lies flat and hugs the body when carried. The shoulder strap has an approx 13 in drop. Includes mirror, spare tassel & generic sleeper. IMO, this bag is in excellent condition considering its 24 years old. No major scratches, scuffs or water marks. The inside is clean with no rips, holes, snags or stains. The leather on the back of the bag is more smooth/less textured than the front, I assume from being carried against the body. There are a few dark spots in the leather on the back, but I don’t believe this is wear or damage but rather a natural inconsistency/imperfection in the leather skin. There is some rubbing/color loss at the corners and one very small tiny hole (which I believe can be sealed with Edge Kote or leather glue & protected from getting worse) The shoulder strap shows signs of wear with one of the buckle holes stretched out of shape/torn.
