🧩 Dementia Awareness 💜 My Story; Journaling served two very important purposes while I was caring for my dad. At first, he could write on his own, sharing things I had never known. I could later read his words back to him to help spark his memory and encourage him to keep going. After he passed, journaling became my safe space. It allowed me to say what I couldn’t say out loud—to feel whatever I needed to feel and simply write my peace. The most healing experience was writing his eulogy. It was never spoken publicly, but it’s something I will always have, always keep, and return to when I need it most. Journaling holds more power than most people realize. At first, it may seem pointless—until the moment it isn’t. Please join me on my “Journal Journey” and write your own path to peace and comfort. I’ll admit, I’ve become a bit addicted to journaling. I keep different journals for different parts of my life. One day, I hope to share them—but more than anything, I hope they’ll help carry me through this disease that feels ever-present. I don’t know when it may affect my own mind, but I do know this: my journals may help me hold on to what matters most… including my Posh family, which keeps growing more amazing every day.
