Vintage New York City Subway Tokens

Two Vintage New York City Subway Tokens. Small token: New York City Transit Authority subway token.  Type: These tokens, known as the "Y" cut tokens, were used for subway and bus fares from roughly 1953 to 1980.  Design: The tokens are made of brass and feature a distinctive "Y" cut out of the center No longer used for entry. Collectable value only. Larger Token: New York City Transit Authority subway token, specifically a "Bullseye" style token used for fare collection between 1986 and 1995.  Type: Bimetallic token with a brass outer ring and a nickel-plated steel center.  Purpose: Valid for one fare on the NYC subway system during its time of circulation.  Current Status: No longer valid for entry into trains or buses; now primarily a collectible item.  Both from my Personal collection.
