This beautiful majolica pottery ewer vase and matching whale-shaped trinket dish are glazed in shades of teal with hand-painted pictures of peacocks and gold decoration. I believe it may be by Hubert Bequet of Belgium, but both pieces are unsigned so I can't be sure. The vase is numbered 55/892 (I think; part of the numbers are worn off) and the dish has no backstamp. In any event, they are lovely. The gold rim around the dish is well faded from repeated washing, but the gold on the vase is not worn at all. The dish is 9 inches long, 4.5 inches wide and 1.25 inches tall. The ewer is 10 inches tall, 4 inches in diameter at the round base, and 7 inches from tip of spout to outside of bamboo-like handle. Aside from the faded gold on the dish, both pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. They are quite shiny and would be pretty in the bedroom or hallway - also a great gift for a peacock collector.
Thanks for looking!

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTIONS CAREFULLY AND VIEW ALL THE PHOTOS. Most of the vintage items in my shop are pre-loved; therefore, I do not know what type of environment they came from.
