Vintage Mid-Century ‘Monkeypod’* Wood Sectional Tray

This leaf-shaped tray can be used for serving snacks as well as a wonderful accent piece. This style is associated with tiki-party décor but is very versitile. The top, inside is lighter in color while the base is a deep, rich brown. *Research indicates that this is a piece that was made of monkeypod in the Philippines. (Monkeypod is prized for its figured grain — some boards have curly or wild patterns that make each piece distinctive. Visually, Monkeypod wood can resemble a blend of golden mahogany tones with rich brown streaks, and when cut, the contrast between the light sapwood and dark heartwood adds depth. The interlocked or curly grain can give it a lively, almost “wild” feel compared to straight-grained hardwoods.) This piece measures approximately 8”/10” x 4 ½”. There are no gouges, cracks and/or stains anywhere on this piece. It is in excellent condition. The item in the photos is the item you will receive.
