Authentic Antique Neoclassical Cast Brass "Temple" Frame – c. 1900 This cast brass frame is a beautiful example of late Victorian/Edwardian architectural decor. Featuring a "Temple" or "Aedicule" design, it is detailed with fluted side columns, a beaded inner border, and a classic pediment top crowned with a central palmette. The frame retains its gorgeous original unpolished patina, showing a deep, rich bronze-like color with minor hints of natural verdigris. Provenance: Matching foundry casting marks present. Stamped "731" on the upper reverse of the frame and "305" on the easel leg. Construction: Features a hand-peened rivet at the hinge, confirming the easel leg is the factory-original mate to the frame. Style: Neoclassical / Hollywood Regency / Grand Tour. Backing: Original brass turn-style fasteners are present and functional. Condition Report: Being sold in "As-Is" antique condition. The frame is structurally sound and the easel stands level. Leg does have a bend at the top, shown in photos. Note: This listing is for the frame only; it does not include glass or a backing board. There is significant aged oxidation and surface wear as shown, which provides an excellent authentic character. Measurements: Overall Dimensions: 8" Tall x 5" Wide Photo Fit: 4" x 6"
