Antique Victorian Edwardian Brass Seed Pearl Enamel Pendant Converted Brooch This is a gorgeous antique pendant. It was once a brooch that was converted into a pendant. Made from carved brass with black enamel painted into the decorative carvings for contrast. It is finished with a huge purple rhinestone. I do not know if this is an amethyst or glass. This piece looks as though it has been reworked a couple times so it wouldn't be surprising if the original stone was replaced with glass. The seed pearls around the stone are set on a wire. I believe they are likely genuine as there are subtle inconsistencies to size and color. It looks as though the enamel may have been reapplied at some point as there is small amounts of enamel on the pearls. Originally, the pearls would likely have been added to the piece after the setting was finished. It really is a lovely antique piece. It is quite large an heavy measuring 2-1/2 inches long.
