Featuring a vibrant folk-art style rooster at the center, these trays are framed by two pink roses and tiny blue flowers with green leaves. The green borders add a pop of color that complements the creamy beige background. These trays were made by ISCO in Japan during the mid-20th century. The back is stamped "Alcohol Proof," a classic feature from this era meant to ensure the hand-painted finish wouldn't be damaged by spilled cocktails during a party. These trays are in good vintage condition with character consistent with age. There is wear and "craquelure" (fine cracking) to the lacquer finish, which does not detract from their overall vintage appeal. The edges show shelf wear typical of papier-mâché items of this age.
