Lot of 7 Vintage Tea Towels - Straight from a Hope Chest Trunk and Appear Never Used or Laundered - 28" x 34.5" White Cotton Towels featuring Hand Embroidered Cat Kitten Days of Week Chores Nicely hand embroidered tea towels such as this were often a shower or wedding gift back in the day. These quite possibly were such a gift that were treasured and never used. I picked them straight from a farm estate hope chest storage trunk and it appears they were never even laundered.... I still see light traces of lines from the transfer paper around some of them (pointed out in photos and should wash out). The sweet cats or kittens were done anthropomorphic style with each towel representing the 6 chore days of the week with the 7th being a day of rest as illustrated with a little country church in the background. The entire set was embroidered on white cotton fabric. Selvages are intact, short ends were hemmed. This smooth tightly woven cotton is perfect for cleaning mirrors, glass, crystal and china as it leaves no lint behind! Please see all photos to complete description.
