Condition: Sold As-Is. This phone is *untested* and it is unknown whether it works or not. It is in good physical shape with a few wear marks here and there, consistent with a phone used by every family member in the household. The rotary dial still turns and the hang up tabs in the phone cradle still raise and lower. On the bottom, there is something that might be rust by the surface protector feet at the rear of the phone. The handset & cord are a different yellow than the phone's body. I'm not sure if that was an "option" or if they were replaced with one from another mfr at some point. See photos.
Classic mid-century piece of telephony memorbilia. Vintage, Western Electric Model 500 yellow rotary dial desk phone, featuring a standard rotary dial mechanism and coiled handset cord.
Significance: Popularly known as a Bell System telephone, this model was a standard household fixture from the 1950s through the 1980s.
