DETAILS: Amber ("bursztyn" in Polish) is fossilized tree resin dating back 40 million years. The richest deposits come from the Baltic Sea, where amber rises from the seabed during colder months and washes ashore. Baltic amber is the only fossil resin containing succinic acid, valued since ancient times for its therapeutic properties.
