This striking porcelain collector plate, titled "Softly, Softly," features the hyper-realistic work of the late John Seerey-Lester, often referred to as the "Godfather of Wildlife Art." As the premier issue in the Rare Encounters collection, the artwork depicts a magnificent white tiger moving stealthily through a bed of dry autumn leaves. The plate is rimmed in gold and captures Seerey-Lester's signature mastery of light and atmospheric texture.
Produced under the hallmark of W.S. George Fine China in 1993, this edition was strictly limited to a maximum of 95 firing days. This piece serves as a beautiful tribute to one of the world's most endangered big cats and is an essential find for collectors of Seerey-Lester's work or enthusiasts of big cat conservation.
Please note: This is a decorative art piece and is not for food use due to the metallic pigments used in the glaze. This plate comes with the plate hanger however the easel is NOT included.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or crazing. The colors remain vibrant.
Size: Approximately 8 inches in diameter.
This piece fits seamlessly into several modern interior styles. It is a perfect focal point for Safari Chic or Global-Inspired rooms. Its detailed, nature-focused aesthetic also complements the Maximalist "gallery wall" trend or Eclectic decor where natural history and art collide.
