Vintage brown fair isle nordic icelandic wool chunky hand knit cardigan sweater

this is a beautifully constructed classic vintage cardigan sweater featuring a fair isle design in shades of brown and beige/cream. the sweater features a high neckline and a front button up closure with ornate silver buttons. the sweater is untagged but it feels like it could be made from icelandic wool (which have long fibres, almost a bit like mohair), however it cannot be confirmed. it certainly has that fluffiness though which could also mean there is some mohair in the blend. the sweater is very thick, warm, and unlined with a bit of an itch, so please be aware if you have sensitive skin. there is no size tag but I would say this best fits womens size medium or large- however, please check measurements. in good vintage condition besides some loose knits and a hole at the back of the sweater (1" long "slit" shape) that could be repaired, and some pilling. measurements (lying flat): bust (armpit to armpit): 19” across (38” when doubled) shoulder to shoulder: 18" - APPROX as there are no shoulder seams. ask if you have more questions! centre back length (without collar): 23.5” bottom hem opening when closed: 17”
