This is a beautiful, uniquely textured studio art pottery slab vase handcrafted by Pacific Northwest artist Colleen Diess. This piece features her signature style, combining organic hand-built structure with highly intricate surface detailing. Artist / Studio: Colleen Diess / Twiddy Pottery Technique: Slab-built cylinder construction with an exposed, organic overlapping seam. Surface Texture: Intricate, hand-pressed vintage lace/doily embossed relief. Glaze & Finish: Features a wiped dark oxide wash that beautifully accentuates the recessed lace patterns under an off-white/cream satin glaze. The rim and interior are finished in a contrasting rich, glossy iron-brown glaze. Markings: Fully marked on the base with the incised cursive "Twiddy" signature and the artist's distinct circular chop mark depicting two figures paddling a canoe.
