Soft satin nightgown with delicate lace V-neck trim. Exquisite vintage Belgian nightgown probably from the 50s (but inspired by the 1930s) that beautifully blends mid-century craftsmanship with older, heirloom-quality materials. The gown is made from a soft, shimmering nylon jersey with slight stretch, cut on the bias to gently drape and flatter the figure. The standout feature is the intricate antique lace panel at the neckline – likely an Alençon lace, repurposed from an earlier period, possibly the 1920s or 30s. Delicately romantic, the gown features short sleeves, a deep V-neck trimmed with the lace motif, and a full-length skirt. It has no labels, suggesting it may have been a custom or atelier-made piece. The seams are finished with overlock stitching, typical of postwar industrial techniques. Has straps to adjust the waist. A unique and rare piece that combines vintage elegance with timeless charm.
