The Siskiyou Buckle Company manufactured this intricately detailed depiction of "Mare and Foal" (A-5). It is made of cast pewter then painted with a green/teal shade of enamel around the horses heads which issue out of the buckle forming a relief. Surrounding the horses is a circle of rope extending out to the edge of the oval shaped buckle. Painted in black enamel is the floral design within the interior and exterior rope areas. The buckle is a classic piece of Americana, and would be greatly appreciated by equestrians, cowboys/gals and virtually anyone who loves horses. Weight 5.25 oz. width 3.5" x height 2.75"
