Vintage Mexican Metal Purse w/Art Deco Gem Eyed Panther, Velvet, Chain Strap

Stunning vintage Art Deco-inspired Mexican metal clutch. This capsule-shaped evening bag features a panther in raised repoussé relief with bezel-set amber rhinestone eyes. The panther motif with baguette-cut eyes is a classic Art Deco design element, reminiscent of the iconic Cartier panther pieces of the 1920s-40s. Nice vintage condition. The aged patina reveals an iridescent rainbow quality characteristic of quality vintage metal. Some surface scratching is present as expected in a piece of this age. Metal shows a minor dent or two that may be original to its manufacture. Interior black velvet lining is in excellent condition. Clasp, hinges, and chain are fully functional. No maker's marks found.
