This authentic 1930s Art Deco cream celluloid (early plastic) bangle features a stunning, highly stylized hand-painted peacock motif flanked by brilliant embedded rhinestone rondelles. Possibly French or European. True figural pieces from this era are incredibly rare, but what makes this specific bracelet exceptional is its condition. Unlike most surface-painted early plastics that suffer from severe flaking over the decades, this piece has zero paint loss. The navy body, rich green sweeping tail feathers, and gold accent lines are entirely intact, crisp, and vibrant. Flanking the peacock design are inlayed clear rhinestones. Nestled directly into the peacock's body and sweeping tail feathers are a brilliant ruby-red accent stone and a deep sapphire blue stone.
