Rare, Antique (1910) Schafer & Vater Porcelain‎ Singing Barber, Occupied Japan

Made in Occupied Japan Very Unique humorous novelty incense burner/ashtray, of a long headed character with a with a face only a Mother could love. He has a monocle, and his title reads “ For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow “ This old chap was made to be an ashtray back in the mid century, but I have always used him as an incense burner. With cone incense placed in the mouth the smoke emerges from his ears, giving a truly whimsical mid century experience. His collar is actually a match striker. 5 variations of this figure were made. The collection is known as Barber Shop singing Quartet. Check out my closet I have a couple more from this collection. This item is hard to find especially in such excellent condition. The condition is excellent with very little wear, no matches were ever struck on the collar. He is very clean with no issues. He’s a real conversation piece, he rules any room, very eye catching.
