Make an offer! This is a RARE stunning antique Bohemian hand-enameled and gilt emerald-green glass decanter, circa 1885 to 1900. Likely used as a decanter or cologne bottle and works beautifully as a vase.
The deep emerald body is divided into vertical gilt panels and painted with florals on a white enamel ground, set within teardrop cartouches outlined in gold. The bouquets show full pink roses, purple and yellow pansies, blue forget-me-nots, and red blooms. Delicate gilt foliate scrollwork decorates the neck, which rises to a dramatic crimped six-petal tulip rim edged in thick gold.
This is the style produced across the Northern Bohemian decorating workshops of the Haida and Nový Bor region.
Origin: late 19th century Bohemia, circa 1885 to 1900
Type: Decanter or cologne bottle, usable as a vase
Width: over 4 inches
Height: approximately 6 3/4 inches
