Up for sale is a unique and charming vintage Japanese Creative Kokeshi wooden doll. This delightful piece pull double duty as a traditional folk art nodder doll and a functional coin bank! The back features a cleanly carved slot for savings. When touched gently, her oversized head rocks softly on its internal neck spring mechanism.
She features an intricately detailed, hand-painted kimono covered in vibrant, colorful floral blooms and a traditional green obi belt. Her serene facial expression is complemented by an elaborate carved chignon hairstyle. **Condition:**
Good vintage condition with a smooth, functioning bobble movement. The paint remains exceptionally bright and detailed.
Please note two vintage flaws (pictured):
1. The small decorative wooden hairpin ornament on the left side of her hair bun has broken off over time, leaving a tiny flush wooden nub.
2. The bottom of the wooden base features a previous vintage owner's name ("April & Hana Matsuzaki") written cleanly in pen.
It still displays beautifully and is a rare find for collectors of Asian art, kokeshi dolls, or novelty coin banks.
