I wear a 26 and 27, too. These fit me. Im a 26 in most free people pants and jeans...in madewell, too, but i am ALWAys afraid to order 26s!

@thedeepocean7 well, these fit me, I promise. And not too tight. I am not going to wear ONLY because theyre a little higher wasted than i prefer and because theyre straight legged, which i dont like on me. But I promise they fit me. Id reorder if find flare or wider leg.
