realthingdennyare the bottom soles leather or rubbery?
Jul 29Reply
drpotts
drpotts@realthingdenny It’s doesn’t feel like rubber- it’s not soft. It’s possibly leather, but I would guess it’s a composite. Sorry I’m not 100% certain

drpotts@realthingdenny I completely understand! I’ll see if I can find confirmation of the material online and let you know.

drpotts@realthingdenny Apparently these are leather soles. You can confirm this by looking at specific visual features on the bottoms of these vintage Wrangler boots:Natural Wearing Pattern: The black finish has worn away in the high-friction areas (the ball of the foot), exposing the lighter, fibrous tan color of the raw cowhide leather underneath.

drpottsVisible Perimeter Stitching: The exposed channels and visible threads running along the edge of the sole indicate traditional stitched construction used to secure a leather outsole to the boot.

drpottsAbsence of Rubber Texturing: The surface lacks any synthetic treading, molded brand logos, or rubber traction patterns typical of composite or polyurethane outsoles.
