This is a vintage whimsical McCoy Hot Air Balloon ceramic cookie jar from the 1970s. It is marked "353 USA" on the bottom and is in good condition. Most of these have lost part or all of the orange stripes. This one has its complete bright orange stripes and there is only a couple of tiny areas that are not perfect (pictured). There are no chips, cracks, or crazing other than the lid which has been repaired but you can only see the repair on the underside of the lid, not on the top side that shows It is approximately 9 to 9.5 inches tall and the base is 3 3/4 inches across. The lid is about 4 1/2 inches across. The interior is clean and bright with no stains. The jar has been lightly cleaned with a mild soap. The cookie jar is fully functional for storage and features a bright yellow top section with orange lines and a brown wicker-style base with tiny sandbags. T73
