Rare original mixed-media fabric appliqué artwork titled "A Girl and Her Dog" by outsider/folk artist Chris Roberts-Antieau, dated 2004. Hand-signed and dated on the verso label.
Roberts-Antieau is a self-taught fiber artist whose embroidered "fabric paintings" are held in the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the American Visionary Art Museum, with private collectors including Bill & Hillary Clinton and Oprah Winfrey.
This piece features her signature whimsical style — a woman embracing a large black dog standing on a table, set against a floral wallpaper backdrop. Comes in the artist's original hand-painted black frame with a decorative almond/leaf motif and the title hand-lettered along the bottom edge.
📏 Frame: approx. 23.5w x 17.5h
✅ Comes with original artist's signed/dated label (photographed)
A wonderful piece of American outsider art for any folk art collector.
