VINTAGE KOREAN WAR "Bunny Boots" A R Hyde & Sons Boots WW II Size Medium This is a pair of genuine Army "A R Hyde & Sons Bunny Boots" made for military EXTREME COLD WEATHER assignments. Hyde & Sons history: At the outbreak of the Second World War, Hyde ceased production of civilian shoes, turning instead to manufacturing boots for the U.S. Army. For its wartime efforts, Hyde was the only shoe company to be awarded the Army-Navy award for excellence in manufacturing. The company returned to civilian production in 1946 and continued making boots for the Army into the late 1950's. Guessing the exact age of these wonderful boots is 1946 - 1950, may be slightly older or newer - cannot say for sure. Very light sole and very light heel wear...no rips, no tears...wool and canvas construction. Made for EXTREME Cold conditions. Men's size Medium (8- 10) measures approximately heel to toe 12.5" sole a widest is 5"...bottom of boot to top of shaft is 12". Five eye shaft, dual strap top shaft...leather belts with metal buckles. TOTALLY AWESOME BOOTS! These boots are VINTAGE. The boots are preowned and worn and show a lot of wear.
