Vintage Scalloped Abalone Inlay Taxco-Style Mexico Brooch

This vintage brooch is made of a gold tone metal, most likely a plated base metal, and has a modern locking c pin closure. The back of the brooch is stamped "Mexico". The front of the brooch features beautiful, vibrant abalone inlays in a swirling configuration. Pics 9 and 10 show the piece before I polished it while the rest are after the polish. Pic 1 shows the brooch held closer to the light than the other pics which is why the colour is a little more vibrant. To be clear, though there are similar brooches listed online as being by Taxco and made of sterling silver, this piece cannot specifically be attributed to Taxco and is not made of sterling silver. It is still a beautiful well-made piece, but I want to make that distinction. The brooch has normal wear, including some remaining tarnish near where the clasp meets the backing. The pin has a slight bend in it from use as well. There is normal wear in the abalone front but nothing significant, and while there are superficial marks in the metal back there are no gouges or big marks.
