Vintage Signed Nettie Rosenstein Medici Coin Clip On Earrings Rhinestone Border
Add a touch of mid-century regal elegance to your collection with these highly collectible, authentic vintage clip-on earrings by legendary American designer Nettie Rosenstein.
Collectibility
Nettie Rosenstein (1890–1980) was a powerhouse mid-century American fashion designer credited with popularizing the "Little Black Dress". Her costume jewelry line ran heavily from the 1940s through 1975 and is celebrated today for its rigorous build quality and complex design motifs. This Medici coin layout was one of her signature patterns, used across matching brooches, necklaces, and handbags
A stunning example of 1960s numismatic costume jewelry, these earrings feature a timeless two-tone coin-medallion design framed by a brilliant, sparkling halo.
Design Details
The Centerpiece: Detailed gold-tone medallion replicas of the historical 1676 Piastra coin. They depict the profile of Cosimo III de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany, complete with the Latin inscription "COSMVS III D.G. MAG. DVX ETRVRIAE".
The Border: A dramatic, scalloped sunburst frame densely studded with a perimeter of clear crystal rhinestone chatons that beautifully capture the light.
The Reverse: The backs feature Rosenstein's signature premium engine-turned textured finish. Both original, comfortable paddle-back clips are stamped with the "Nettie Rosenstein" script signature
Some Darkening on the high relief on the coins.
