Pair of Vintage Metal Lavabo Set (also known as a wall fountain or cistern and basin set). Based on the construction and the hand-painted gold graphics on the sage green metal, this is a classic piece of Toleware (painted tin or thin gauge steel), likely dating from the 1950s to 1970s. ​While these were originally modeled after functional 18th-century hand-washing stations, mid-century versions were designed primarily as decorative wall pockets for floral arrangements (as evidenced by the green floral foam still inside the basin). Features a two-piece set consisting of a wall-mounted lidded cistern (top) with a decorative brass-tone spigot and a matching catch basin (bottom). ​Graphics: The hand-painted gold "tole" style illustrations include a stylized fish (a nod to traditional fountain motifs), a trident, and floral garlands. ​Condition Notes: In excellent vintage shape, no notable flaws.
