A pair of wheel-thrown stoneware goblets in a two-glaze design. The contrast between the metallic dark exterior and the richly glazed cobalt blue interior is the standout feature. The blue glaze pools beautifully at the rim of each cup with iridescent depth that shifts in different lighting. The unglazed gritty terracotta base is original to the construction, not damage. No chips or cracks noted. No maker's signature. These are functional drinking goblets with real artistic presence — the kind of handmade work that came out of the American studio pottery movement of the 1970s–1990s. Note about color: The glaze colors can appear differently depending on your screen and lighting conditions. To my eye the body reads as glazed in a rich gunmetal or iron color with a cobalt blue interior, but others may see more gray or black tones.
