Vintage Mid-Century Faux Wood Bracelet

This vintage mid-century bracelet is made of a phenolic-style resin made to look like wood (faux wood/faux bois). The bracelet overlaps in the front in what I believe is called a "passthrough" style. Both ends of the pieces are tapered to a point and the "lower" end in the pictures has 2 brass tone metal stripes. I've seen similar pieces listed as having gold inlay, being made of petrified wood, being antique, or being made to look like snakes, but I can't confirm that any of that is true here. Though the material look like wood, it doesn't have the same give and is closer to a plastic feel in that sense. I tested the piece with simichrome and while the reaction was not strong enough to indicate bakelite, there was a slight reaction suggesting the material may be a later material from the same family. It has a weak green glow under UV light, suggesting the same. The bracelet has normal wear and it's possible there was a 3rd metal strip on the "lower" end. There are some small marks on the inside of the overlap area (pic 5) and I've had a hard time putting the piece on because I'm afraid to bend it too far, but there are no cracks or chips in the piece that would indicate a break is imminent or inevitable.
