Beautiful, authentic Peruvian owl gourd ornament, meticulously handcrafted using the a 4,000-year-old Peruvian traditional mate burilado (etched gourd) technique. This unique piece of South American folk art features fine, hand-tooled linework that brings the owl’s feathers and distinct facial features to life. The rich gradients and dark tones are achieved entirely through natural fire-burning (pirogravure) shading techniques—no paint or artificial dyes were used. It features a 360-degree wrapped design and includes a secure gold hanging loop at the top. Excellent vintage condition with zero cracks or structural damage. Perfect as a unique holiday ornament, boho home accent, or addition to an ethnographic art collection.
