Vivienne Westwood - Nova Cocotte - Burgundy/Wine

This gown is the Vivienne Westwood Nova Cocotte in Burgundy/Wine. I wore this gown for a welcome event at my wedding and have never felt more beautiful. It’s a knock out. I originally paid $8240 plus about $1000 for couture alterations. It was taken in at the bodice, and the large piece of fabric across the bust was reduced to about half of the size which is much more flattering for most. We also added a grossgrain around the waist to help with zipping the corset. Inspired by fashionable high-society women of the 18th century, its corseted bodice and off-shoulder neckline softly fold across the shoulders, sculpting a romantic silhouette. The waist is gently cinched, while the fabric falls from the hips in a slim, fluid A-line, flowing delicately to create a draped style reminiscent of ancient Greek statues.
