Vintage handwoven Zapotec wool gabán vest, c. late 1960s–1970s, from Oaxaca, Mexico. Made using traditional tapestry weaving methods in natural wool with aniline dyes.
Design features:
* Front: twin starburst motifs in red/blue, black Mitla greca band, patch pockets
* Back: striking Aztec/Maya warrior profile in feathered headdress
* Folded-panel construction with side arm slits
