Stunning vintage mid-century 1950s Lefton China hand-painted lusterware three-footed porcelain teacup and matching scalloped saucer set. Made in Japan. Features a gorgeous, highly dramatic multi-color iridescent luster background in shades of turquoise teal, rich brown, and warm gold. Adorned with beautiful hand-painted blue and white Colorado Columbine flowers. The elegant scalloped cup features a gold-trimmed loop handle and stands on three delicate decorative scroll feet.Preloved vintage condition with several characteristic age and factory imperfections to note. The saucer features a smooth indentation on the outer edge, which is an authentic factory-in-glaze kiln air bubble blowhole defect from manufacturing rather than post-purchase damage. The painting has a few minor, faint surface scratches from stacked storage. The top inner rim of the teacup feels slightly rough and matte where the shiny protective top glaze did not fully coat the edge or wore down over time, and a couple of dark mineral ash specks are permanently trapped beneath the interior glaze from the firing process.A truly unique, highly collectible display piece for a cottagecore curio cabinet, high tea tablescape, or vintage porcelain collection!
