Antique Cast Iron Jockey Cap and Horseshoe Inkwell

Antique cast iron jockey cap and horseshoe desk accessory, most commonly used as an inkwell or a paperweight. Features a cast iron horseshoe base with a painted metal "jockey cap" or helmet mounted in the center. This is an antique model (produced between 1890 and 1930) desk inkwell, where the jockey cap twists and acts as a hinged lid for a glass insert. Very cool piece, extremely collectible.
