From the legendary Canadian fashion brand Parachute, founded in Montreal by designer Nicola Pelly and architect Harry Parnass. This is an archival statement piece hooded poncho, a slight design departure for the brand. If I had to guess, this is late 80s, maybe even early 90s (they stopped making clothes in 1993).
It's a bohemian-style hooded poncho featuring a rustic, multi-textured weave with a vibrant geometric and striped pattern.
Because it's Parachute, it's an interesting take on a poncho shape. Very wide so the ends dip down, while the actual length is much less.
59" wide | from Neckline 25" long | no size tag
Silhouette: Loose, oversized drape that flows open at the sides like a classic cape or blanket wrap.
Neckline & Hood: Built-in oversized hood tapering into a soft V-neckline.
Pattern: Horizontal stripes mixed with pixelated, native-inspired geometric blocks.
Color Palette: Earthy multi-color scheme blending olive green, mustard yellow, burgundy, purple and charcoal grey.
Fabric: Heavyweight wool blend with a slightly textured, tactile surface. Fabric woven in Italy. Not at all itchy.
Original Label: The iconic white fabric tag is stitched into the back neckline, reading "PARACHUTE" under its classic geometric logo.
Brand was famously worn by stars like David Bowie, Madonna, Duran Duran +
