Vintage Taxco Mexican Abalone & Alpaca Silver Tequila Set 6 Shot Glasses & Tray. Beautifully handcrafted with a Mid-Century Modern aesthetic featuring a heavy inlay of bright colorful abalone. Set of six footed twisted stem shot glasses or cordials and a matching tray. The tray has about a 1/2 inch band of abalone around the rim. The shot glasses are tapered and feature iridescent mosaic tile panels made from natural abalone/mother of pearl shells. Each piece is stamped (some are difficult to read) but it indicates Alpaca "silver" which contains no real silver at all. Instead, it is a non-precious metal alloy made of copper, nickel, and zinc. The ultimate shot glasses- perfect for special celebratory toasts, shots, cordials and fine liqueurs. This set evokes a striking mid-century retro glamour blended with bohemian coastal luxury, capturing an iridescent, shimmering aesthetic that feels both artisanal and eccentric. Preowned in unpolished condition with wear consistent with the age; tray has marks, dents, tarnish and patina and the glasses have tarnish, patina and the stems of some of the glass bases are bent (could be reshaped). Pictures 4 & 5 were taken outside in the natural light. Colors vary with different screens and devices. Please see pictures for approximate measurements.
