Antique ECK-O-LIN Skin Perfector Bottle with Original Label | Apothecary Medicin

A wonderful antique pharmacy bottle complete with its original ECK-O-LIN "The Healing Skin Perfector" paper label. Manufactured by The Eck-O-Lin Remedy Co. of Minneapolis, Minnesota, this bottle was marketed as a treatment for a wide variety of skin ailments, including chapped hands, eczema, scalds, burns, ivy poisoning, ringworm, chilblains, and other common conditions of the early twentieth century. The surviving label is especially appealing, advertising a retail price of $1.00 and listing the bottle's ingredients as containing 18% alcohol by volume along with antiseptic aromatics. Original labeled medicine bottles from regional remedy companies are increasingly sought after by collectors because the paper label tells the history that embossed bottles alone cannot. The clear glass bottle has attractive age-related character with light interior residue and expected wear from over a century of storage. The paper label remains remarkably readable with scattered staining, edge wear, and a small area of paper loss near the upper right. The bottle is displayed without a cork, as found. A wonderful addition to an apothecary collection, early pharmacy display, antique medical collection, or primitive farmhouse décor.
