This style of decoration is known as "spritzdekor", referring to the use of an airbrush & handheld stencils to achieve the patterns & color graduations. Such designs were popular in Germany throughout the 1920s and 1930s. They featured airbrushed & hand painted designs of squares, waves, triangles & stripes in bright colours. Initially, designs were angular, abstract & modernist, but in the early 1930s more natural designs began including plants & flowers.
