Handmade and hand-painted in Italy during the 1950s/1960s by the renowned workshop of Tito Corti (signed TC on the base). This whimsical piece features a highly stylized donkey coated in a gorgeous, rich turquoise/teal glaze with bright sunshine yellow and orange hand-painted accents along the mane. It is structurally unique with two built-in side pannier baskets, historically used as a toothpick holder, match striker, small planters
Markings:
The bottom is hand-signed with the classic "TC Italy" workshop mark, alongside the original artisan production tracking codes "H - hh" or "44-H".
Very nice vintage condition. Gorgeous shiny glaze finish. True to handmade mid-century Italian art pottery, there may be tiny organic manufacturing glaze pops, paint variations, or light base shelf wear consistent with age. No major chips or cracks!
